Marche Funèbre

The Marche Funèbre was originally conceived as a standalone piece for piano incorporating a regular funereal march rhythm with middle trio in the related key of A Major. The march was subsequently further developed and modified to be incorporated as the second movement of the Piano Sonata No. 1 Op. 32.

The work was composed from 20 April 2015 through 27 January 2016.
